Energy
is a cornerstone of West Virginia's economy, history, and
our future. Consequently, one of my first acts was to convene
my Energy Task Force, a broad group of experts and interested
individuals, whom I commissioned to make recommendations
to me regarding how to position our State to continue its
leadership role in energy. Among the recommendations were
suggestions for workshops focusing on in-depth assessments
of renewable energy, coal bed natural gas, hydrogen, and
our State's energy infrastructure. The complete report of
the task force is available.
On my behalf, the West Virginia Development Office, working
with West Virginia University, is undertaking the development
and coordination of these workshops. I invite you to participate.
Please reserve time on your calendar to attend the workshops
and share your expertise.
By working together, we can build on West Virginia's energy
heritage to ensure that in these changing times energy remains
a vibrant, vital component of our economy today and tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Bob Wise
Governor
